Pregnancy And Childbirth Can Result In Changes On A Woman’s Body And Figure, Particularly The Abdomen And Breasts. Post Pregnancy Procedures May Improve Those Areas Of Concern
About Post Pregnancy Procedures
The more children a woman has, the more changes are likely to affect the body. That’s why many women, once they’ve finished having children, find themselves contemplating restorative plastic surgery to aid the appearance of the abdomen and breasts.
Dr Lim’s post pregnancy procedures are designed to meet each mother’s needs, with personalised treatment plans developed in the consultation process. This treatment plan might include a mastopexy (breast lift) with or without implants, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and/or lipoplasty (liposuction).
Post pregnancy procedures are best performed when a woman has finished having children, her children are old enough to not need constant care, and the family has sufficient support that the patient can have time to recover after surgical procedures. The staff at My Klinik are available to provide any help patients may need, including arranging special times for consultations and follow-ups to fit in with the family.
For more information on potential procedures, see the individual treatment pages or contact My Klinik for a consultation.
Augmentation Mammoplasty (Breast Augmentation)
Augmentation mammoplasty (breast augmentation) can give long-lasting and more natural-looking breasts. The surgical procedure is used primarily to improve the size and also the shape of a woman’s breasts with the use of breast implants. Placement of the implant behind each breast increases its volume and benefits the overall shape of the breast.
In some cases, fat transfer/injection can be used in addition to implants to enhance volume in certain areas of the breast, to achieve better symmetry, for more upper pole fullness and/or for a better cleavage line.
Augmentation Mastopexy (Breast Lift with Implants)
Combining a mastopexy (breast lift) with augmentation mammoplasty (breast augmentation) can give long-lasting and more natural-looking breasts. Dr Lim is experienced at raising and firming the breasts by removing excess skin to tighten the surrounding tissue.
Breast lifts can help balance uneven breasts, reshape sagging breasts following pregnancy and breastfeeding, raise the position of downward pointing nipples and areolas, reduce the size of the areolas and increase the firmness of soft breasts. Those looking to also increase the volume of their breasts can achieve this with breast implants at the same time. In some cases, fat injection can also add fullness in the upper pole of the breast and help define cleavage lines.
Mastopexy (Breast Lift without Implants)
Many women, while satisfied with their breast size, still feel unsatisfied about their breasts for a variety of reasons. Breast lifts (also known as mastopexy) can help balance uneven breasts, reshape sagging breasts following pregnancy and breastfeeding, raise the position of downward pointing nipples and areolas, reduce the size of the areolas and increase the firmness of soft breasts.
Dr Lim is experienced at raising and firming the breasts by removing excess skin to tighten the surrounding tissue. In some cases, fat injections can also be performed to increase upper pole fullness or improve cleavage lines.
Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, is designed for those that feel that no matter how many sit ups they do, they still can’t get rid of excess skin and fat on their stomach. This procedure is often sought by women who have had children and are looking to tighten the abdominal wall. During an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), excess fat and loose skin are removed and underlying muscles are tightened and repositioned.
The best candidates for an abdominoplasty are patients who are in good shape, are not overweight, but have loose abdominal skin. This is commonly seen in women whose abdominal muscles and skin have been stretched out from multiple pregnancies, as well as people who have a loss of skin elasticity due to age or weight fluctuations.
Lipoplasty (Liposuction)
Lipoplasty or liposuction, commonly known as fat removal surgery, can help you to achieve a more defined figure after pregnancy, by getting rid of fat in those areas that won’t seem to budge, no matter how healthy you eat or how vigorously you exercise. Our post pregnancy procedures (mummy makeover) patients turn to liposuction for help with stubborn fat on their hips, thighs, buttocks, ankles, back, arms, stomach or chin.
Advances in lipoplasty (liposuction) techniques have greatly improved the potential results in recent years — specialist surgeons like Dr Lim can now remove up to five litres of fat relatively safely in a single procedure. During this procedure, Dr. Lim reshapes your body by removing stubborn fat deposits. He takes his time with your body, leaving you with a more defined physique.
